The General Assembly Churches have three services a week, two on weeknights and one on Sunday. We believe that the order of our services must be conducted according to the New Testament scriptures. Our services are led by the Holy Ghost. We do not depend on a pre-planned program, but allow the Lord to have His way in each service.
When conducting our services, there are things we must do to get the best from God. The order of service is defined in four distinct areas as described below:
-
Prayer at the beginning of the service – In accordance with the scriptures, we pray at the beginning of our services, inviting the Lord to have His way.
-
The Songs of Zion – The Songs of Zion are spiritual songs that contain a message meant to remind us of God’s laws. As we sing these songs repetitively together, we seek to get our minds on the Lord and invite Him in.
-
Testimony – Testifying is another key part of our services that is mandatory for our spiritual development and growth. In our services, we depend on the Spirit to guide us, as a result the church will be edified, which is the primary goal of the Spirit in our services.
-
Ministering of the Word of God – In our services the Word of God is ministered for the edification and learning of the church. The ministering of the Word of God is also done by the operation of the Spirit, which ensures the people of God receive what they need to grow and develop in the Lord.
Bible Study
Bible Studies are held regularly on selected weeknights. We believe that the congregants should have an understanding of the word of God. The Bible Studies, led by ordained ministers, allows congregants a chance to understand Bible doctrine and ask questions for clarification and gain detailed knowledge about the scriptures.
